I was in this Publix minding my own business getting groceries. There was a man and his wife and small child going around the store, and I noticed the wife was having to help her husband with things and he was zoned out with his child sitting in the cart. He was obviously intoxicated. I ignored them through the store, but it was difficult to ignore them because they were being loud and obnoxious. Unfortunately, they got in line behind me. As I was checking out, the husband started picking up my groceries and asking about them. I asked him nicely not to pick up my groceries. Then he got belligerent and stepped up in my face. I informed him that I am 6 months pregnant, and I would appreciate it if he would get out of my face. The managers, James and Robert came over and shielded the drunk belligerent man and held him in the store. However, the police should have been called in this situation because the man was drunk, belligerent, and upsetting sober paying customers. After I left, I talked to James again, and he said he didn't like his picture being taken, but I was taking a picture of these two people who were threatening me and calling me names after I asked them to leave me alone. James said that he did confirm that the man was drunk, but he let him leave the store. I couldn't continue my conversation with James because he was treating me like I was the problem. James continued to tell me what I did wrong in the situation even though he had confirmed that the man was drunk! He did not apologize to me or try to make amends for this incident. The problem was the drunken man in the store, not me, a sober, pregnant teacher. Of course I will be upset if there is a drunk man in my face in the grocery store! I am disappointed that a Publix manager wouldn't recognize a highly intoxicated person who is obviously publicly intoxicated which is a crime. And he and his wife were purchasing beer and she looked like she had been drinking too. They both were allowed to leave the store, and the police were not called. I regret leaving when I did, but I wanted to remove myself from this situation. I will never shop at Gulf Shores Publix again.
The employees here are the nicest people on planet earth. Even though though 95 percent of the people we have met here in Foley/GS don't even know what vegan means, we were blown away to find Publix carries our 100 percent plant-based mayo, cheese, Field Roast meats and soy milk that we absolutely love. It's nice not having to drive to Mobile's Whole Foods all the time for healthy stuff. The staff always knows where every little thing is and the balloons for the baby is a nice treat. They even have the Glacier water machine right inside the door. It's everything we could ever ask for in a grocery store.
Love this store. Great selection. The sushi is really good too. The employees are always friendly and if you need any assistance, they are eager to help. Well worth shopping at this store.
My favorite place to shop. All staff are friendly and helpful. Always clean and easy to get in and out or browse depending on your mood. I use the pharmacy as well and they are so helpful with suggestions and cost saving alternatives.
Some awesome, hard to find items in stock, very friendly and knowledgeable employees, always the best produce and I've never had a single issue. It's a very refreshing experience.
