The food is good, the portions are decent and the prices are quite reasonable. Especially for a beach, tourist place.
Our first time trying the food was ordering it to go, and we loved it so much we ate in the restaurant the next night. The food is fabulous, especially the Gumbo, grits, stuffed white fish, alligator bites, and the coconut shrimp. Everything was good, and the staff are all very nice and go the extra mile. Our waiter was Stephen, and he insured we had a great dinner. He could teach the waiters back in Atlanta a thing or two about service. We now consider the Original Oyster House a "must-go" any time we visit Gulf Shores, AL.
If that is what you are looking for.. this is the place. I really enjoyed what I had, I just wish there were a few more NON-FRIED choices on the menu. They do have a salad bar, maybe that is the balance they are working with.
Outstanding! Casual local dining. The decor is on point and reflects a lot of local ties. The water views, filled with local wild life is always parts of the show. The winter specials always bring us back. You can eat enough popcorn shrimp to feel like pampered royalty. Looking forward to my next visit.
Our waitress was nice and personable. (Thanks Jayne!) It seems to be the kind of place that people enjoy working in. (compared to similar places in the area)
Reasonable wait at dinner time. We were seated and immediately treated as if we were royalty. B.B. was our waiter and handled things wonderfully. Drinks stayed full and food came fast. The grilled oysters were awesome. Oh and we took Home a peanut butter pie that was great. We will definitely be going back.

Enjoyed the food and service. Stuffed white fish, grits and greens are recommended. Waitress seemed to have genuine interest in our dining experience. Overall a pleasant luncheon with friends prior to the holidays. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is we were seated near the drink station.
