Tacky Jacks, Gulf Shores, AL is very colorful with all the stickers everywhere. The stickers started with a disgruntled employee and the name and stickers are not synonymous. It was Tacky Jacks before the stickers. The most consumed drink is the Bushwhacker, which is ice cream and alcohol. There is an upstairs dining all over and a down stairs dining all over and onto the lawn. The picnic tables is where you can dine with your canine and children. Only service animals are allowed inside. The handicap area leads to an elevator... A very slow elevator to the second floor. There are two bars, of course because of the upstairs. These are very large bars. The place is huge. The ceiling is probable 15 feet which give such an openness to the place. The stickers are all over the place. There are three Tacky Jacks...Orange Beach, #1, Gulf Shores, and Fort Morgan. Maybe #4 should be Foley or Magnolia Springs. The food is very good. Check out the menu.
Delicious and amazing atmosphere! Love tackyjacks. Crab cakes are delicious! And the sauce is good on everything.
We have been here several times and been happy or at least neutral every time... Until this morning! We waited 90+ minutes AFTER ORDERING and still didn’t get our food. We were told several times that they were working on it and that it would be a few more minutes. The first time we were told they were working on it was after 30 minutes. Then another 30 minutes goes by and I asked for the manager because our waitress said it would be “a few more minutes”. He said 5-10 minutes and offered to comp our meal. Then another 20 minutes goes by and another guy (another manager?) said 4 or 5 more minutes. At that point we just left. People sitting around us that arrived 30 minutes after us got their food before us (which is when we started to realize it was taking so long) and the waitress said it was because we are a big party (WHAT? We had 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a 9-year old). The other tables had 4 adults each, so I can’t believe our “big party” had much to do with the delay. Our order was a waffle, pancake, and 3 omelets. I honestly think our order had been lost and no one wanted to fess up to making a mistake. I would have understand that. But don’t tell us “a few more minutes” for AN HOUR!
We left and went to “The Diner” across the street. It was WONDERFUL!!!! The shrimp & crab omelet is AMAZING!
Wednesday 11-4 prime rib $8.99. Dinner prime rib $13.99 4-9 or they run out dinner prime rib bigger portion. Is the best also has $4 bushwhacker special
Food was pretty good. The gumbo the was the most delicious. Service was good also I sat at the bar because there was a wait but I ended sitting with the most interesting set of women. It was nice.
I will not be back to Tacky Jacks period
