The unit was furnished beautifully. The kitchen was well stocked. There was enough room for our entire family to relax comfortably. The beds were excellent. I think everyone slept well. The balcony was well furnished and had an amazing view. We all enjoyed our stay and would rent this unit again.
The property where we stayed, "seaside" was in good condition and was very clean. The amenities were great and the view was exactly as advertised. We had no issues other than an early departure related to a hurricane but that was no problem. Convenient registration, check-in, and check out. We will be using this company again.
Great location on the beach. Nice views from the house. Clean. Spacious enough for our family. A few things could use some maintenance. Killed several large cockroaches in the house. Got a few splinters from the walkway down to the beach. Overall, had a real nice vacation though.
March 2015, gulf shores, Alabama. Stayed with Meyers 2 years in a row. The property was great and booking was easy. However the second year they had changed the age needed for booking. We talked with the owners of the condo and everything was fine. Drove 12 hours and at checkin they were not allowing us to stay. In fact laughing at our faces because it was funny that went spent all pf our money and drove 12 hours to find out we couldn't stay there. I couldn't believe the disrespect. Maybe they were annoyed with all the spring breakers but we were very pleasant people and just wanted to hangout by the beach with our friends. We had to find a drunk stranger to sign for us. Apparently that's okay for their policy. I had never been treated like that before and will never stay with Meyer as well as all of my friends and their families. It was terrible.
Shame on me for renting a place with no reviews on VRBO (and no way to leave one) and for not doing my homework on Meyer's. And shame on Meyer's for not "managing" a property that they're responsible for and their lack of concern when contacted about very legitimate issues. I will NEVER use them again.
UPDATE: 7/3/17 - a representative from Meyer's called a full 62 hours after our arrival HOME and 7 plus days after my email was sent. They feel that they addressed our issues sufficiently and offered a $300 credit for our next stay. Why would I give them another $2000+ and a second week of my life for what equates to ONE FREE NIGHT out of 12? No, you charged the family before me a cleaning fee and you charged me a cleaning fee for an unclean home. I won't use Meyer's Vacation Rentals again.
Filthy rental and unconcerned staff at Meyer's made our vacation unforgettable. Day 1, We opened the door to Sand Days West to a dirty, sticky kitchen floor, worn out furniture and stained carpet. Upstairs we found cheap motel grade sheets, old and stained bed pillows, black grime on ceiling fan blades, a missing smoke detector and an a/c return so disgusting that I cringed. I doubt the filter has ever been changed! We called immediately and they offered to get the carpet cleaned and measure for a replacement window blind. Really? Could they just move us to a clean unit. No! We had to order pizza because the pots and pans weren't fit to cook with! Day 2, I emailed a list of concerns - no response. Maintenance did show up unannounced to measure for a new mini- blind. Day 3, we find a red flashing light going off under the house and can smell sewage. Call Meyer's to report. Day 4, call Meyer's to again report light and smell. Plumber arrives at 8 pm. Still waiting for response to email and photos documenting the condition of the rental.
